Batina Dawson wants two things most in her life. She’s determined to become a partner at her law firm and secure her younger sister’s financial future. That’s why she talked Dusti into flying to Alaska, to mend fences with their terminally ill, rich grandfather. It seemed to be a perfect plan—until things go wrong. The plane crashes and their lives are saved by two large, muscled brothers. Kraven is a spiked-haired menace with a handsome face and a killer body. He also believes she’s in danger from her own grandfather, and that Vampires and Lycans once bred, making him a VampLycan. He even claims her mother was one too. He may have kidnapped Bat, but his misguided hero complex is almost sweet. She knows exactly what defense she’ll use if he becomes one of her clients. Insanity. Kraven is frustrated. Bat refuses to stop arguing with him at every opportunity. She’s stubborn, mouthy, and oh so sexy. She might be right when she accuses him of being crazy—she’s driving him nuts. But she’s in danger and he’ll stop at nothing to keep her safe. Author Note VLG stands for Vampires, Lycans, Gargoyles…and breeds in between. Living in Alaska’s harsh, pristine territories, these creatures live and love fiercely. These are their stories.

Kraven VLG Volume 2 Laurann Dohner Books

I made it halfway through before I couldn't read anymore. I love Kraven in the story and I really wanted to finish it for him. However Bat's personality was so bad I just couldn't take it anymore. She was nothing but a giant b**** to the guy. He saved her life several times and all she does is sit there and question him over and over again and not a nice way. She looks down on him as if he is nothing but gum at the bottom of her Shoet to associate with her.

Kraven VLG Volume 2 Laurann Dohner Books Reviews

I am a huge fan of Laurann Dohner. That being said, I have read every single book she has written and honestly...these last few books she has put out...I want to like them. I really want to like them but I just can't. This book really did it in for me. I am hesitant about buying anymore books by her. This book was, in my opinion, a bit lazy. It starts off where the first book starts and pretty much follows that (so we get to go through all of that again) and I am starting to feel that every character in her books are the same. They have a different name, different description and different job; however, they are still the same. No surprises. Maybe she is just cranking the books out too quickly or maybe I have just outgrown LD. Which makes me sad because like I said, I really did like her books.
I buy all of Dohner's books so I was pleased to buy this new series. The first book of the series was wonderful. It set the stage and the characters were developed well. Kraven's character was a strong, lead romantic hero in the first book. In the second, I found the interaction between Kraven and the heroine Batina to be tedious. Batina acted like a "brat" and Kraven had to constantly deal with getting her stubborn butt moving so they could escape her Grandfather's men. After so much of this nonsense, I was pretty much wanting Kraven to walk off and leave her butt behind. He didn't and he soldiered on dragging her to safety, so he pretty much was a hero. So, I guess I would say that there was too much arguing and conflict between the two leads that didn't really ramp up any sexual tension so what was the point of it all. I had to force myself to keep reading all while thinking "it will get better I hope." But, the book never did improve. The plot was revealed pretty much in the first book and nothing new was added other than you had a story from Kraven and Batina's point of view with their dialog. Not sure if I will buy another book in this series.
The first half of the story is the same as Drantos. The plane crash, running thru the woods chased by grandfathers enforcers , fighting enforcers, crossing river, cold and alone. I along with other reviewers, also thought I was reading first book. I get reviewing parts of the back story in the 2nd book, but not half the book. If you read the first book, remember when she said she was Batina and enforcers captured her and Drantos went after her? Book 2 is the same up to that point
I am persisting with this series because I am a big fan of New Species and Cyborgs series from Laurann Dohner and I am pleased to say that it is improving in building the VLG world however I was a little disappointed that the novel went over the details of the plane crash from Book 1 as this was what I found a drag from the first book and seems to be a straight cut and paste, nothing really added at all. Once I got past this, the story picks up again like the first book and I really like Kraven as a character but Batina is a frustrating and selfish b*tch of a woman so again I was frustrated like with book 1. I’m actually looking forward to the next book as we finally get past this silly plane crash and Batina (and her sister Dusti from Book 1) not understanding anything of the VLG world that they were born into and hopefully move on from these terrible characters.
Let me start out by saying this was a very frustrating read.
1. Batina, BAT was an awful big sister, mate potential and human.
2. She was so very selfish, repeatedly argued, argued more, then bitched some more. It did not matter that her life was saved, then saved again, oh then saved again. She wanted her soft bed..even if it killed Kraven. Oh well, she gets her bed.
3. I bought the audible, in addition to the kindle as I travel long car rides. It was torment trying to get past all of the complaining. Kraven definitely gets the short end of the stick. It was like being trapped in a car with an arguing couple that never stop complaining...no don't stop there, I need a bathroom, not that place a restaurant, how dare you go through a drive through. I finally gave up listening thinking to read through the end....I almost didn't finish this.
I loved the first book in the series. Spoiler alert....What really frustrated me though....Dusti went through hell trying to prove herself, protecting Drantos from whipping, risking her life to save a child, saying she was Batina to save her sister, being ridiculed by clan members, while being repeatedly told to respect the vamplycans or they will rip your face off for speaking out. Did Bat have to do anything. Nope, not even get bitch slapped for talking back to lead female. I'm wondering if authors sister is lawyer?
So once again, poor Dusti was left in dust by her Bat of a sister talking big and bad with nothing to back it up, which they were repeatedly warned about. Bat earns a place of respect....RIGHT?
I made it halfway through before I couldn't read anymore. I love Kraven in the story and I really wanted to finish it for him. However Bat's personality was so bad I just couldn't take it anymore. She was nothing but a giant b**** to the guy. He saved her life several times and all she does is sit there and question him over and over again and not a nice way. She looks down on him as if he is nothing but gum at the bottom of her Shoet to associate with her.
